Contracts2.0

Innovative agri-environment contracts for farmers and for nature

'Contracts2.0' was a European research programme which ran across 13 different countries from 2019 to 2023. In the UK, the project was ran by a small team from Natural England and the University of Aberdeen. In England, we focused on how results-based payments and collective approaches could provide more attractive and effective agri-environment schemes, which suited farmers and delivered environmental outcomes.

Below, I have included some of the 'practice abstracts' and detailed reports we produced for practitioners such as farmers and policymakers. Please get in touch if you would like to discuss further any element of the work. I am excited to see elements of payment-by-results and collaboration make their way into Environmental Land Management in England.

Useful resources

Below are some of the key outputs relating to result-based and collective agri-environmental contracts published during the project. These policy reports and 'practice abstracts' are designed with policy-makers and practitioners in mind. Please don't hesitate to reach out for any further information on these outputs.
